Cornhole board for Labor Day party

Don’t let summer’s last gasp pass you by without a celebration

Labor Day is one of our favorite times of the year. After working hard all year long, it’s a moment we can unwind and simply relax, or play hard. Either way, let’s just admit one thing: there’s not going to be any work involved that weekend. Thinking about throwing a party? We’ve got a few great ideas to get some of your sweet Labor Day plans in motion this year. Here’s what you need to know when planning your event:

1. First things first: Pick a theme

Setting a theme is a great way to make a party feel extra festive. While it can be hard to narrow one down, we have to admit we’re pretty fond of the idea of an all-white-outfits party for this holiday. After all, you’re never supposed to wear white after Labor Day! It’s a great opportunity to give our friends and family their last chance to sport the summery look before the dark autumn colors take over.

2. Plan backyard games for your guests

What adults and kids find fun are usually two different things. That’s why we always like to incorporate games that all ages can enjoy. Everything from modern corn hole and classic horseshoes to an ultimate Frisbee competition — there’s lots of fun to go around. We tend to mix our family classics with some newer ideas to keep everything exciting.

3. Get grilling

Let’s get real. There is practically no point to Labor Day if it means we’re not going to fire up the grill. As the unofficial end of summer, BBQ is a must. In fact, Labor Day has become synonymous with it in many parts of the country, as this holiday is one of the last opportunities for many folks to cook outside before colder weather sweeps in.

4. Slip and slide with water fun

Labor Day is a great time to celebrate summer while getting wet outside, so it’s the perfect opportunity to go big with the water games. Whether it’s a simple pool party, a massive water gun fight, or setting up a long slip and slide in the yard, now’s the chance.

5. Jump around

A outdoor trampoline is a great party idea for adults and kids alike – it’s a conversation piece, and a unique activity for friends and family. Everyone has a wild time when they’re jumping around — we sure know we do! And JumpSport has lots of options you can choose from — check them out and order yours today to have it in time for the holiday weekend!
