6 Fun Trampoline Games For Extended Families

These games allow everybody to have a good time

We love enjoying our  trampoline as a family. Everyone enjoys it! There’s no denying how great a trampoline in the backyard can be. Bouncing around on a trampoline is not only fun, it’s also excellent exercise. Unfortunately, however, certain family members can be left out. Small children and grandparents may not be able to do things that others can do, but that doesn’t mean they can’t have fun. The next time everyone’s together, here are six games to think about playing:

Popcorn

To start this game, one person takes a seat in the middle of the trampoline as the kernel. He or she then puts their knees up to their chest and hugs them with their arms. The other people start jumping with the goal to have the sitter either unwrap their arms or tip over, in either case they will have been “popped” and then it’s someone else’s turn to be the kernel.

Poison

The name of this game may sound dangerous, but it’s just loads of fun. It begins by placing several balls or other small items (the number is up to you) on the trampoline. Then everyone begins to jump. If a ball touches you, you’ve been “poisoned” and you’re out. The last person still jumping is the winner.

Memory

A great game for helping little ones with their memory (or perhaps boosting grandpa’s), this game starts with one person doing some sort of move or jump on the trampoline. The second person must do that move and then add their own, and then the subsequent players must do those moves and a new one, adding on. If someone forgets or does the moves in the wrong sequence, they’re out.

Ring around the rosie

This nursery rhyme has been around for over 100 years, so older folks are probably familiar with it and can teach it to the newest generation. In this game, everyone forms a circle in the middle of the trampoline. Either holding hands or walking in a circle, everyone sings “Ring around the rosie, pocket full of posies, ashes, ashes, we all _______” Then everyone takes a turn and decides how they want everybody else to fall down.

Bubbles

Even just adding bubbles can add some excitement to your trampoline. Someone who’d rather not get on the trampoline (or maybe isn’t ready yet) blows bubbles and everyone else jumps to see how many they can pop.

Basketball

Okay, if you’ve ever seen those mascots at NBA games jump off a trampoline and fly through the air to dunk the ball, you probably don’t think everybody can play basketball. But who says every player must shoot? Somebody has to pass the ball, and the taller folks may be perfect for tossing up those alley-oops on your  trampoline basketball court. And as for the littlest hoopsters, with a little lift from somebody bigger, they can dunk just like their older siblings.
