JumpSport
Demonstrates the JumpCourt as an extreme sports
training apparatus at the 1997 World Wake Boarding
Championship
Saratoga,
Calif, October 20, 1997 -JumpSport, LLC demonstrated
its JumpCourt in conjunction with Connelly Wake
Board (CWB) products at the 1997 World Wake Board
Championship held October 17 ? 20 at Crane?s Roost
Park, Altamonte Springs, Florida. The JumpCourt
was demonstrated as a training apparatus to practice
basic wake boarding maneuvers on dry land. Parks
Bonifay, 2nd place in the 1997 Men?s Overall World
competition, and brother Shane Bonifay were both
on hand to give demonstrations in the JumpCourt.
Other national wake boarding competitors who gave
showed off their maneuvers in the JumpCourt were
Rob Struharik, Dave Reinhart and Sonja Scheffler. The
World Wake Boarding Championship was the last
event in the 1997 Wake Boarding Tour sponsored
by companies such as Connelly CWB and Nautique
Boats. It was covered by ESPN and can be seen
Saturday, November 22nd on ESPN2. The JumpCourt
was set up at the event with a tow rope inside
so wake boarders could safely practice their timing
and movements while bouncing on the trampoline.
The
JumpCourt is a safety net enclosure which surrounds
trampolines to prevent children and adults from
falling off. The product brings safety and peace
of mind to the backyard where trampolines are
growing in popularity. The JumpCourt attaches
to standard 10? to 14? trampolines with a system
of flexible padded poles and netting to give 360
degrees of protection to anyone jumping on a trampoline.
The netting extends for 6 feet above the trampoline
bed to prevent an unexpected ejection from the
trampoline. Together, the netting and poles flex
in a manner which can withstand an impact of over
800 foot pounds of energy.JumpSport's
founder, Mark Publicover commented "I originally
designed the JumpCourt as a safer way for kids
to enjoy the trampoline. I didn't realize at the
time how important the device would be for bringing
safety to the training for extreme sports. The
JumpCourt has turned out to be an excellent way
for extreme sports competitors and enthusiasts
to safely practice their aerial skills. If you've
ever seen anyone eat it doing a flip on a snow
board or roller blades, you can appreciate how
important it is for serious competitors to have
a safe way to practice their moves."On
the last day of the World Wake Boarding Championship
competition, a drawing was held and the trampoline
and JumpCourt were given away to Jared Gilmore
of Winter Park, Florida. |
