Measuring Your Trampoline JumpSport Safety Net Compatibility

How do I measure / find the size of my trampoline?

Round Trampolines
Rectangular Trampolines
Octagonal Trampolines

For Round Trampolines:

The size of a round trampoline is measured by the diameter of the metal frame (not the jumping surface).

  • To find the diameter of your round trampoline, start at the outer metal edge of the trampoline.
  • Measure straight across to the opposite side, to the outer metal edge of the trampoline. (See image below.)
  • Then measure the frame diameter again, but measure perpendicular to where you just measured. (See image below.)
  • Take the average of the 2 measurements, and that should be your approximate trampoline size.
  • Measuring twice this way will help ensure that you get an accurate measurement in case the frame is bent or damaged, or the trampoline is not sitting on level ground.

Important: Frame should only be measured if all the springs are properly attached and the jumping surface is correctly installed.

Note: Our round trampolines only come in 10 foot, 12 foot, 14 foot diameters, and have either dark green, dark blue or black legs. If your trampoline is a different size, or has legs that are not dark green or black, then your trampoline is not a JumpSport or AlleyOop Sports trampoline.

For Rectangular or Square Trampolines:

The size of a rectangular trampoline is measured by size of each side of the metal frame (not the jumping surface).

  • To find the size of your rectangular trampoline, start at the outer metal edge of the trampoline on any of the 2 short sides.
  • Measure straight across to the opposite side, to the outer metal edge of the trampoline. (See image below.)
  • Then measure the frame diameter again, this time measuring either of the 2 long sides. (See image below.)
  • These 2 measurements will make up the dimensions of your rectangular/square trampoline.

Important: Frame should only be measured if all the springs are properly attached and the jumping surface is correctly installed.

Note: Our rectangular trampolines only come in a 10' x 17' size, and have either dark green or black legs. If your trampoline is a different size, or has legs that are not dark green or black, then your trampoline is not a JumpSport or AlleyOop Sports trampoline.

For Octagonal Trampolines:

The size of an octagonal trampoline is measured by the diameter of the metal frame (not the jumping surface) from corner to corner (not side to side).

  • To find the diameter of your octagonal trampoline, start at the outer metal edge of the trampoline, at one of the corners.
  • Measure straight across to the opposite corner, to the outer metal edge of the trampoline.
  • The distance between opposite corners is longer than the distance between opposite sides, and is therefore very important that you measure from corner to corner.

Important: Frame should only be measured if all the springs are properly attached and the jumping surface is correctly installed.

Note: We do not make octagonal trampolines. If your trampoline is octagonal then your trampoline is not a JumpSport or AlleyOop Sports trampoline.

How do I check to see if my trampoline is compatible with a JumpSport Safety Net?

Our Model 280, Model 380, and Model 480 safety enclosures will fit any of our JumpSport round trampolines. If you aren't sure if your trampoline is a JumpSport, what color are the legs of your trampoline? If they are bare metal/silver/steel colored, then you do not have a JumpSport trampoline and should continue reading.

The below information is for people who do not have a JumpSport or AlleyOop Sports Safety Enclosure:

Check the vertical legs of your trampoline.
The vertical legs must be flush with the outside edge of the trampoline rails. Our Safety Enclosure poles mount to the outside of the trampoline legs, so if the legs are not flush with the rails, the poles can not be installed.

Note: If your trampoline has mounts or brackets on the legs or rails (many JumpKing trampolines have this type of thing), this will also cause the legs to not be flush with the edge of the rails.

Check the upper 2/3 of each vertical leg of your trampoline.
The upper 2/3 of each vertical leg piece must be straight, and must be at a 90 degree angle (perpendicular) to the trampoline rails. Our Safety Enclosure poles mount to the outside of the trampoline legs, so if the legs are angled or bent, the poles can not be installed.

More info:

  • Most trampolines have 4 "U"- or "W"-shaped legs, which means there are 8 vertical leg pieces connected to the trampoline rails, 2 per W. Some trampolines however, have more W-shaped legs, and some have less. Our Safety Enclosures have 8 poles, and on round trampolines, will work with either 4 or 6 leg W/U-shaped leg configurations. Standard installation instructions for a 4 leg trampoline are included in the box. For a 6 leg trampoline, see our 6 leg configuration document. For other leg configurations, please call JumpSport Customer Service at 408-213-2551.

  • Our Model 280, Model 380, and Model 480 enclosures will fit most other round trampolines between 10 feet to 14 feet in diameter. Be sure to properly measure the diameter of your trampoline frame, as shown in the How do I measure / find the size of my trampoline? section above.

  • If you have a round trampoline that is between 14.1 feet and 16 feet in diameter, then you would need our Model 480XT safety enclosure. We do not make safety enclosures for round trampolines smaller than 10 feet in diameter, or for round trampolines bigger than 16 feet in diameter. Be sure to properly measure the diameter of your trampoline frame, as shown in the How do I measure / find the size of my trampoline? section above.

  • For rectangular trampolines, our Model 780XT enclosure will fit most other square or rectangular trampoline sizes measuring 9x15, 9x16, 10x17, 12x12, 14x14, and 14x16 rectangular. Be sure to properly measure the diameter of your trampoline frame, as shown in the How do I measure / find the size of my trampoline? section above. For trampoline sizes not listed here, please call JumpSport Customer Service at 408-213-2551.

Important:

  • If the legs or rails of your trampoline are larger in diameter than 1 11/16 inches but less than 2 inches, we have wider u-bolts that you will have to purchase in order for our enclosure poles to fit. Please call our Customer Service team for more information.
  • If the legs or rails of your trampolines are larger than 2 inches in diameter, our enclosures will unfortunately not fit your trampoline. If you would like to upgrade your trampoline and purchase a high-quality JumpSport trampoline and enclosure, please call our Customer Service team at 408-213-2551 and we can help find something that will best fit your family.

Note:

  • If you have a trampoline that is LESS than 14 feet in diameter, but more than 10 feet, you will need this installation addendum for installing your net. Since our 280, 380, and 480 nets will fit up to 14 foot trampolines, you will have excess netting and this installation addendum will show you what to do with the extra netting.

  • If you have a trampoline that is LESS than 16 feet in diameter, but more than 14 feet, you will need this installation addendum for installing your net. Since our 480XT net will fit up to 16 foot trampolines, you will have excess netting and this installation addendum will show you what to do with the extra netting.
